MEDIUMS AND SPIRITUALISTS TODAY
Excerpt from Abbott's Target:Midnight
Finding a psychic or medium is not hard in this day and age, a quick search through google and we found out that the Psychic & Holistic Fair was coming to Centerline Michigan for one day and our whole family decided to attend. The event was from 9am till 6pm and was held at the Knights of Columbus just off Van Dyke Avenue. Admission was $7 per person and when we asked the door keeper if it was okay to take pictures she gave out a reassuring "of course". The door keeper also explained that they do this a couple times a month in different locations and that - for the most part - it is the same group of people running the booths. The door keeper (a friendly lady whom I forgot to ask her name) said that you could find out where they are by going to be next by going to their website at www.rywevents.com.
There were about 30 booths each offering fascinating items and/or services. One booth had a computer monitor and they were taking aura pictures and interpreting them. Another booth was offering Deep Trance Meditation readings where the reader connects directly to the Akashic records which hold all the information of the universe past, present, and future. Plenty of booths with crystals, tarot cards, pyramids, and other spiritualistic items were present and everyone there was very friendly which in turn did create a very positive and friendly fun atmosphere.
With all the articles on seances on this site our goal was to find a genuine medium to give us a reading with the great beyond. It did not take long to find the mediums and there were several to choose from. They each had a schedule on a clip board in front where you would give them your name and cell # and they would text you when your turn came up (in much the same way as a reservation at a restaurant). All of the mediums had a waiting list, some over an hour, but if you did not have the time to wait they did offer "Zoom" online sessions that you could do in the privacy of your own home while on the computer with the medium at a later date.
While we were waiting for our selected medium to text us, my wife Mary decided to have a tarot card reading with Brittani of "Brittani's Tarot & Crafts". The reading was very entertaining and accurate in most areas and Brittani was very friendly. One thing that was ironic was the very first card she turned up for the reading was the magician card. She said the magician card was a sign of intuitiveness or intuition in a person. At one point she said the ten of pentacles - in the particular place she drew it and not in conjunction with any other card - told Mary that meant she "had it all together". Brittani said she had never seen that card come up in that position before in any past readings. At one point she put a pendulum over one of the cards and she explained that the pendulum moving in one direction meant "no" and in the other meant "yes". As the reading continued she said many other things that were a little private in nature for Mary (suggestions, strengths and flaws, etc). All in all it was a very fun experience and Mary did feel emotionally lifted afterwards.
As soon as the reading was over, we received a text from Tricia, the medium. We then shuffled a few booths to our right and Mary took a seat at the medium's table. She began by asking Mary if there was a "Chuck" involved in her life and Mary replied yes. She then said that Chuck's Dad wanted him to know that he was with him much of the time and loved him very much. I thanked her for her kind words, and then the Tricia got back to the subject at hand, Mary. As the session continued she talked about a great many things, including a visitation dream that Mary had several years back about a friend of hers who had passed on. The thing that struck Mary most was that she was accurate in her description of how the person in the visitation dream died in life. She then asked if "Georgia" meant anything to her and that was where Mary live for 5 years and was the setting of the dream (or visitation as the medium called it) with Mary's deceased friend. There was no way she could have known anything about Georgia and she described the setting of the dream in great detail, accurate down to the color paint of the house. The reading with the medium was very informative and uplifting for Mary. The information about the dream visitation and some of the personality traits are hard to explain as no one besides Mary knew that information and it wasn't written down anywhere.
Both the readings that we experienced (tarot and medium) were great and very fun to be a part of. The two readers were the type of people you enjoy chatting with about every day things so it's no wonder you would enjoy chatting with them about psychic things.
Overall Mary was very happy and somewhat surprised with the readings. Both were very accurate with the character traits. The messages "from the other side" - while unexplainable - were certainly entertaining. Mary says that as long as you go into it with an open mind and the mindset that this is for entertainment purposes only (I think it says the same thing at the beginning of this book), you will have an enjoyable time. Anything else that you get out of the reading is simply a bonus, including the unexplainable items and personality traits that may have you scratching your head a bit upon leaving. As Mary says "don't bother trying to figure it out, where's the fun in that". When all is said and done it was very entertaining experience for everyone involved.
We continued looking around the fair and bought a deck of "Konxari" cards which are described as a "supplement to communicate with those who have passed on". The deck is perfect for ghostly spirit seances and was only $5 so how can you go wrong. Most of the items available would fit anyone's budget and the readings ran for about $15 - $50 depending on the length of time. The aura reading was $40 and you get the picture and the interpretation to take home with you so if it's a souvenir you want, you might want to try the aura readers.
The final analysis of the psychic festival is that mediums and psychics are doing just fine in this computerized silicone valley world of today. We did not find any of the old, creepy, seance stuff, but hey, no one's perfect!
Our next reading was a week later at Mama Tracy's Psychic Readings Metaphysical Product in Dearborn Heights Michigan. Once again Mary went to have a reading and when we arrived at Mama Tracy's there were several readers available. Mary asked for a Tarot reading. The cost for a reading at Mama Tracy's is 15 minutes for $30, 30 minutes for $50, and $60 minutes for $90. Mary selected a Tarot reading, but they have other readings available including mediums and the cost is the same for all readings.
Mary sat down with Abby for her reading and the first thing that we noticed that was different than the festival was that you are separated by a plane of glass (Covid Protection). While Mary was getting her reading I had a chance to speak with Andrea and Jessica who answered a couple questions I had.
Andrea told me she knew she was psychic from a young age and she uses the Tarot cards to assist her psychic abilities. Since she only has a limited amount of time with her customers it helps her focus her senses. She continued telling me that Mama Tracy's has been in business for 11 years and just recently expanded into the building next door. Mama Tracy has her own brand of incense, mojo, and candles that they sell but Andrea told me the most popular items are crystals and they have a huge selection of crystals available.
Andrea also told me that the most popular readings are the Tarot readings as I thought it would have been the mediums. I asked if there were any of the old fashion seance mediums with the round tables and everyone in a circle holding hands and she said they are still around, but they are a little elusive and secretive. She said they used to have a festival each year but it was cancelled due to Covid and she was not sure when it was going to be rescheduled.
Mary came out of her reading and was very happy with it. Once again she told me that the reader told her things that she could not possibly know and was very accurate. One thing that she noticed that was the same at this reading and the one she had the week before is that she came away from both readings feeling very good, almost a revitalized feeling.
We both looked around the shop a bit, there were so many products it was unbelievable. Everything from Scrying mirrors to Chakra sets were available. There was also a whole host of books for those who wanted to continue looking further into the world of Spiritualism. I was told there were even classes that could be taken to advance oneself in the Spiritualism realm.
After the Psychic Festival last week and Mama Tracy's this week I have come to the conclusion that the world of Spiritualism is stronger than ever and adapting quite well to this computerized century of ours. Visit them online at www.mamatracys.com.
