I WILL FIND HOUDINI

"I am Madam Keeler and I seek Houdini where ever he might be. Here is a simple demonstration of my power It simply requires 5 cards or items. 4 of them are other magicians and 1 is Houdini who tormented me during my life. That means the odds are going to be 4-1 in your favor to hide Houdini from me."

First, make up 4 "magician" cards and 1 "Houdini" card and shuffle/mix them up to your hearts desire (you can print these or simply use 3x5 cards and make your own. You can do this randomly or put them in whatever order you like (it can't be more fair than that right).

The only thing you have to do is line up the cards horizontally in one row. If you don't like the arrangement you can rearrange the row just so long as the 5 cards are in a row and facing up so that you can see them. Below is an example of a mix up.

"Once you have the row of cards the way you like I am going to ask you to note the position of the cursed Houdini card and remember the number of the card in the row. You can count from left to right or from right to left, a completely free choice. Below is counting left to right."

"And just to be complete, below is counting right to left. As I said earlier this is a completely free choice".

"This is a free choice for you and the cursed Houdini card will be 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 depending on which direction and where the Houdini card is in the row. in the example above, the Houdini card is at the right end so it could be 1 or 5 depending on which direction you count from, lets pick 5 for this example".

"I, Madam Keeler, will know begin to find the cursed Houdini, remember, all you have to do is have 1 "magician" card at the end (and the odds are 4-1 in your favor) and you will have defeated my power and proven me to be a fake".

FIND HOUDINI STEP ONE - "Whatever the curse card number is, swap it that many times with the card next to it (if you have a choice you can pick left or right, free choice)".

In our example the curse card is 5 so swap it back and forth 5 times with the card to the left (our example gives only one choice since its at the right end in our example). When finished our example is shown below.

"Once you have done the swap, remove the two outer cards for they are not Houdini. If the cursed Houdini card is removed you have broken my power and proved me to be a fraud, but we both know thats not true".

In our example the Houdini card is not at the end. See below for our example after removing the two outer cards.

FIND HOUDINI STEP TWO - "Swap the cursed Houdini cards with one of the cards next to it (you can pick left or right if you have a choice)".

In our example we swap the Houdini card with the card to its left (our only choice). Our example after the swap is shown below.

"Once you have done the swap, remove the two outer cards again for they are not the dreaded Houdini. You now only have one card left and yes it is the Houdini card. This is further proof of my power with the spirts. This concludes our seance, you can pay as you go out the door".

You can try this as many times as you like. Shuffle the cards again or start with the Houdini card in a different spot, do the count (in the opposite direction than before if you like) to figure out what the Houdini card number is, and then follow the steps below.

FIND HOUDINI STEP ONE - Whatever the Houdini card number is, swap it that many times with the card next to it (if you have a choice you can pick left or right, free choice).

FIND HOUDINI STEP TWO (if necessary) - Swap the Houdini card with one of the cards next to it (you can pick left or right if you have a choice).

This effect can even be done via phone. Print the 5 cards, send them to a friend with a note to call you when they get them. Go through the steps and your friend will be amazed!
